AC2 on PC is probably the ugliest game in the entire franchise nowadays. Colours are really washed out, draw distance and shadows are terrible, and textures are meh. The only thing it still has over the remaster is 60 fps. If you want to go PC I recommend you look into reshade to at least make the colours more saturated.
Alt+tab out, open task manager, select details, right click on AC2 , click set affinity, and select 0 and 1. 7. Lastly set all graphics to Highest settings (unless you have a potato -_-), turn on v-sync and enjoy. I used my ps4 controller with AC 1 and AC 2 with no issues other than figuring out how to set it up.
A quick Google search would suggest using xbox360ce, which emulates the 360 controller (AC1 was terrible at detecting anything else). There's also fixed in the Steam forum if you're using the XB1 controller, but the first option helped me the first time I played through it. How. Its an ini and dll.
Assassin's Creed 2 is one of the best Assassin's Creed games there is. And it is in my top 3 favorite games of all time! But that was when I played it on the PS3. It looks and runs good on the PC, but The support for controllers (Xbox 360 controller (both wired and wireless), Xbox One controller, Xbox Series controller, PlayStation 4/5 controller) on PC is just terrible. I've never had so
I've tried my Xbox One wireless controller, my Xbox 360 wired controller, and a Logitech wired controller and I have the same problem with all three. When I get the "start game" screen I see a mouse pointer which I can move with my right joystick. None of the other buttons do anything except for "select" which just takes me back to the previous screen (if I click "options" for example). Any
These games usually feel better on controller due to having analog control for the parkour. I remember that the first couple AC games on PC actually seem to have a problem with Xinput where the controller isn't mapped correctly, but from what I can tell everything since Brotherhood properly supports Xbox controllers, and the more recent games (since Syndicate I think) also "unofficially
The game is not optimized to run above 30fps, therefore a lot of modern gaming systems (especially laptops) fail to reach and maintain 60fps. Capping to 30fps provides a very choppy experience and 40fps provides a very stuttery experience. 35fps is much less stuttery than 40fps and is noticeably smoother than 30fps, therefore it is the recommended way to play if you cannot get 60fps.
The correct AC3Remaster configuration settings: [Input] SelectedPad=XBOX 360/ONE For Windows (Controller) KeyboardMouseEnabled=0. AutoSwitchEnabled=0. Just seen this quoted on a forum. Not sure where the config file is, but guessing it won’t be hard to find. YakuzaCat. OP • 2 yr. ago. Thank you, I'll give that a shot.
